This is the twenty-second and last post in an ongoing Meet the Squirrels series. Read more in this series.
Becca was born and raised in North Canton, Ohio. As the Squirrels communications specialist, she is responsible for creating, writing and editing content for the company’s website, email blasts, blog posts, social media, press releases and more. She’s also responsible for public relations efforts and attends conferences to help with sales.
In the short time Becca has been with Squirrels, attending the ISTE Conference is the coolest thing she’s done. “ISTE was the first time I got to get a real idea of the impact our products make,” she said. “Getting to talk to hundreds of people about how much they love our software or how much it will help them made me realize how fortunate I am to be a part of this company and the amazing things they do.”
The best part about working at Squirrels for Becca is the atmosphere of the office. “When I first started here I knew everyone was already best friends so it was kind of intimidating to come into,” she said. “However, they took me under their wings and made me feel so welcome. Everyone values everyone for their own unique skillset and understands how important each person’s piece of the puzzle is.”

Favorite things to do in your free time: If you asked my friends, they would describe me as a housewife… with no husband. Or house. I just love keeping my apartment obnoxiously clean, doing laundry and cooking/baking, especially for groups of people. Some of my favorite nights are “family dinners” with my closest friends. That being said, I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family doing whatever we feel like doing that day.
Food: Any kind of breakfast food or seafood
TV Show: South Park is my absolute favorite. Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, and Parks and Recreation are VERY close seconds.
Movie: I rarely make it through fifteen minutes of a movie without falling asleep.
Band/Artist: Cold War Kids, Weezer and Bassnectar are all flawless.
Your idol and why: My idols are definitely my parents. They are both such hard workers and have always pushed me to be the best me I can be. There are no greater parents or supporters in the entire world.
Your motto: “Non nobis solum nati sumus,” which is Latin for “we are not born for ourselves alone.” While our goal in life is to serve our own unique purpose, we come across an incredible amount of people during that journey. I believe we must stay conscious of how we can use our talents to positively impact others and contribute to the greater good of humanity, big or small.
If you could be any animal, what would you be? Tall people stereotypes bind me to say giraffe, and I’m ok with that because they fight with their necks, and it’s wicked.
When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, which I pursued in high school and my first year of college. When I got my acceptance letter into my college’s school of education I switched my major the next day… it just didn’t feel right.
If you could have one super power, what would it be? I would want the ability to defy gravity whenever I pleased. I would spend so much time floating around for no reason, just kind of blowing in the wind. That’d be a good day.
