AirParrot 2.2.1 for Windows is Available

An update to AirParrot 2 for Windows is now available!

We're constantly working to ensure the best user experience for our customers on every platform. We hope this update will allow our devoted fans to continue to use AirParrot 2 seamlessly.

You can update AirParrot 2 by selecting “Check for Updates” from the AirParrot 2 preferences menu. Additionally, you can download the new version from the AirParrot 2 download page.

Windows 2.2.1 release notes:

  • Improved Cast mirroring and streaming support, especially on lossy networks
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes and stability improvements

AirParrot 2.2.1 for Mac is Available

An update to AirParrot 2 for Mac is available!

You can update AirParrot 2 by selecting “Check for Updates” from the AirParrot 2 preferences menu. Additionally, you can download the new version from the AirParrot 2 download page.

Mac 2.2.1 Release Notes:

  • Hardware acceleration now more intelligently defers to software encoding if performance would be better in software
  • Improved Cast mirroring and streaming support, especially on lossy networks
  • Added a preference to manually toggle between hardware and software encoding
  • Added better support for "Dark Mode" in OS X 10.10 and later
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes and stability improvements

AirParrot 2.1.3 for Windows is Available

An update to AirParrot 2 is available!

Windows 2.1.3 Release Notes:

  • Resolved an issue introduced in 2.1.2 that could cause the stored license key to become corrupt, requiring re-entry
  • Resolved an issue that could cause AirParrot 2 to refuse to install on valid Windows Vista service packs

AirParrot 2 for Mac and Windows Version 2.1 is Available

A new version of AirParrot 2 for Mac and Windows is now available. This version adds support for subtitles, local audio and displaying current artist, track and album information. AirParrot 2.1 also includes the ability to mirror just a selected portion of the screen. Find the full list of changes below:

Mac

  • Subtitles - AirParrot 2 now supports media files with embedded and external subtitles!
  • Now Playing - AirParrot 2 shows current artist, track and album information for iTunes, Spotify and Radium when mirroring audio only.
  • Local Audio - AirParrot 2 now allows mirroring audio to local computer speakers in addition to other devices.
  • AirParrot 2 now allows you to choose other audio input devices, in addition to system audio.
  • Mirror Selected Area - Select just a desired area of an application or a screen to mirror.
  • Added indicators on mouseover for display identification
  • Added menu bar indicator when mirroring is paused
  • AirParrot 2 now appears in “Open With…” menu for media files
  • AirParrot 2 menu now closes when selecting another menu bar item
  • Resolved an issue with display extension driver that could prevent certain Macs from waking on 10.10.2
  • Resolved an issue with display extension driver that previously warned users of drag and drop issues with certain MacBooks - all MacBooks are now safe to use with AirParrot 2
  • Resolved an issue where “Very High” video quality setting actually produced a very low quality video stream
  • Resolved an issue that prevented audio streaming to audio devices with multiple interfaces with self-assigned IP addresses
  • Resolved an issue where bluetooth-discovered Apple TVs could overwrite the mDNS information for the device
  • Resolved an issue where multiple connected monitors could cause the “To” list layout to break
  • Numerous miscellaneous bug fixes, stability improvements and performance updates

Windows

AirParrot 2 for Mac 2.0.4 is Available

A new version of AirParrot 2 for Mac is now available. This version includes numerous fixes. Check out what we’ve changed below.

  • Improved teardown and disconnect on Chromecast devices
  • Resolved an issue with main menu appearing at the wrong size or position on 10.7 and 10.8
  • Resolved an issue where the “Application” menu would not display applications to mirror
  • Resolved an issue where the “Media” menu would not display any content
  • Resolved an issue where the Settings menu would not appear on 10.7 and 10.8
  • AirPlay passwords are now properly remembered even if the device’s IP address changes
  • Misc. performance and stability improvements
