Squirrels Team Attends Georgia Educational Technology Conference

The temperatures are dropping, and that means one thing –  the Squirrels team is headed south for the winter.

Okay, not really. But members of our team are traveling south this week to exhibit at the 30th annual Georgia Educational Technology Conference (GaETC) in Atlanta.

Technology coordinators, media specialists, district administrators, superintendents and more will have the opportunity to learn about the latest in education technology and understand how technology plays a key role in education. And most of all, the more than 4,200 education professionals in attendance can join Squirrels to learn how to easily monitor and manage the wide range of student devices used in their schools (booth 733). Sounds enticing, right?

GaETC is dedicated to professional development of educators and gives attendees access to more than 250 concurrent sessions, nationally-known speakers, workshops focusing on the latest in technology innovations and over 200 exhibitors.

What are some sessions that should be on your radar?
We’ve got a few in mind from our director of professional development, Becky Shiring, and certified Alpha Squirrels. Check out the session details below. Plus, our friend Leslie Fisher presents 12 times. View her session details here.

SnakeClamp saves the day at ISTE 2014

ISTE 2014 was a success for Squirrels, but that’s not to say there weren’t some hiccups along the way.

In the center of our booth we had a television, computer and iPad displaying AirParrot and Reflector working in conjunction with one another. However, we needed some way to suspend our iPad from the display.  When the hardware we initially brought broke, we didn’t think we would be able to display the iPad. Luckily a fellow exhibitor, SnakeClamp, was there to save the day.

SnakeClamps are interchangeable hardware tools that feature different mounting bases, goosenecks and attachments to “hold what you need, right where you need it.“  They were gracious enough to give us some of their products; and they worked flawlessly! With the Rail Clamp, 18” Heavy Duty Gooseneck and iPad bracket we were provided, we were able to display our iPad at eye-level right from our backdrop.

We can’t thank the generous people at SnakeClamp enough for providing such an amazing product. Check out their website for a full list of products.

Top Five Reasons to Visit Booth #11285

This week, five members of the Squirrels team are attending ISTE, the International Society for Technology in Education. We’ll be at booth 11285 in Exhibit Hall D showcasing some of the best ways to use Reflector and AirParrot in the classroom.

1. Meet the team

We sent five of our team members to ISTE to talk to you! Feel free to stop by and ask any question you can think of. Sales, technical, implementation, deployment; we can handle them all! Heck, we’ll probably even tell you our favorite foods if you ask! (Bonus points if you return with said dish.)

2. Free trial

Anyone who stops by can snag an extended trial designed specifically for educators. Just grab an information sheet and a trial card, and you’re set!

3. Free swag

What’s a conference without free stuff? We’ve got pens, stickers, shirts, software, styli and more!

4. New exhibitor game

That’s right, we’re a new exhibitor! For your chance to win an iPad mini, be sure to stop by our booth to get your card punched.

5. Go hands on

Use your own device or use one of ours to try Reflector or AirParrot. Learn directly from the people who developed and perfected the apps!

The San Antonio Convention center is quite large. Just follow the map below to find us in Hall D at booth 11285.
