Ditto Changelog Product Updates

We’re excited to announce a new major version release of Ditto Windows Receiver software. Version 2.0 is now available and free to download.

This update improves video mirroring performance, delivers a cleaner layout for mirrored devices, streamlines app menu navigation, simplifies troubleshooting and adds a more seamless app-update experience.

The upgrade process is different than prior Ditto Windows Receiver updates. Follow these steps to upgrade

Important: All Ditto Windows Receiver apps must be updated to the new 2.0 version by February 28, 2025. Learn why.

Better, faster, stronger

The new Ditto Windows Receiver leverages modern hardware decoding technology to deliver less latency, faster rendering and better mirroring quality. The result is a greatly improved Ditto screen mirroring experience. The performance gain is especially easy to see while mirroring video.

Out with the old layout

We added a new unified mirroring window to improve how mirrored devices appear on your screens. This update shines brightest when mirroring multiple devices to Ditto Windows Receiver simultaneously. It's something Ditto users love to do during collaboration sessions.

Previously, multi-device mirroring created multiple mirroring windows on the receiver screen. The new unified layout reduces on-screen clutter and delivers a cleaner mirroring experience that’s easier to follow.

Do more, click less

We implemented app menu changes after asking our users how they interact with Ditto Windows Receiver. The new app improves the end-user experience by making it easier to get to where you need to go with fewer navigational clicks.

What’s the problem?

The new Ditto Windows Receiver helps you resolve issues with ease and speed. We made it easier to collect and share crash logs. Crash log retrieval allows our team to diagnose and resolve your issues faster and better than before. Get help when you need it…and save time doing it.

Hassle-free app updates

The new Ditto Windows Receiver makes it easier to manage future app updates. The app silently updates on launch when an update is available, or you can choose to manually update earlier. The choice is yours.

Additionally, the app now includes a subtle icon on the help menu to indicate when an update is available. The image below shows digital signage running on the new Ditto Windows Receiver along with screen mirroring connection information. The update indicator is the red arrow on the help menu icon.

Important: Users must upgrade by February 28, 2025

All Ditto customers using the Ditto Windows Receiver app must upgrade to Ditto Windows Receiver 2.0 by February 28, 2025. We will be sunsetting the existing receiver on that date. The new Windows receiver app is available at no additional cost.
